It’s true. I did it. After months of training, I ran my very first 10k (6.2 miles) this past Saturday. Some of you may think that’s no big deal (you marathon runner, you!) and others may think that’s epic (Thank you for feeling me!).
It was hard. I felt like I wanted to quit. I contemplated life, love, death, and more…but I never stopped running.
I had two goals: run the entire time (no walking allowed) and finish in under 90 minutes (I crossed the finish line at 73 minutes, 12 seconds!). I achieved both.
I crossed the finish line with my girls, husband and mom and dad cheering me on. Then I made a video for you all red faced and sweaty! CLICK BELOW to watch it.
In the video, I talk about the middle part and how flipping hard it can be. That wall that we hit when sh*t gets real and you have a choice to make. But you know it and I know it, we can do hard things. We can LOVE OURSELVES through the hard part.
This run was a message to my soul that I am empowered and that I’m up for the challenge of living in these chaotic times. I can find compassion for myself and bust through those internal walls, claiming my deepest desires, no matter what.
